penetrations

So not to contaminate the response I will only ask the question
and not provide my take on it.
If 2 metal boots (4 X 12) are installed into
a garage ceiling for makeup air to the gas appliances in the garage, would
this meet or violate the penetration requirements of the FBCR? At the
present time they are not vented out of the attic and have no fire
dampers. This is to supply combustion air to a water heater and a
furnace.

Thanks,

Steve
