[Florida Code Talk] Demising Wall Question.

My experience has been to jam the drywall up as tight as possible, crushing
the insulation to the metal deck. The gap, if any, between the drywall and
metal deck is minimal, and the fiberglass is not combustible. This is
usually accepted by building departments. If you cut the insulation, it
will fall, and you will have a break in your thermal barrier.

Check with your local BO, however.

Subject: [Florida Code Talk] Demising Wall Question.

Hello fellas,

While building the wood frame demising wall (1 HR.) up to the steel building
roof deck, do we have to remove 3.5" of the thin layer of wrapped insulation
installed by the steel building erectors?

Thanks,

Paul Myrick
