Chris, I would also unless you have testing. You are now dealing with a structural fire wall – not a fire barrier. The panels themselves need to be part of the “system” of layers with EPS – any degradation of the EPS and/or the thinner steel panel may cause collapse.

Our company strictly builds with steel SIPs,(residential and commercial)  they EPS core and are clad on both sides with 26 ga. steel, in all cases the building departments make us cover with 1/2" drywall
