Major Business and Actions

 

The Commission conducted a Rule Adoption Hearing on Rule 9B-72, Product
Approval system fees and approved fee increase. Considered staff report
on the Rule 9B-72 Rule Development Workshop regarding authorizing IAPMO
to be an evaluation entity and approved moving to final hearing.
Considered and approved in concept the Flood Plain Management Standards
Workgroup recommendations for inclusion of the IBC flood plain criteria
in the 2010 Florida Building Code.

of Pinellas - Florida Building Code chapter 9 requirements for fire
sprinkler systems in group R occupancies.      Action:  Dismissed

DCA09-DEC-254 by Mike Harris of Sea Shutters Inc. - Clarify ASTM impact
resistant product test standard glass breakage criteria for porous and
non-porous products.          Action: TAC recommendation approved and
moved to second hearing.

DCA09-DEC-259 by Robert S. Fine Counsel for Malibu Lodging Investments,
LLC. - Does attachment of lightweight mural materials to existing
building facades require a permit.                Action:  Referred back
to TAC.

DCA09-DEC-260 by Joseph Scofield, Advanced Manufacturing & Power System,
Inc. - Is a generator enclosure a building.          Action: TAC
recommendation approved and moved to second hearing.

DCA09-DEC- 257 by Mitch Thomas - Is a building permit required for
installation of low voltage, e.g. communications, systems.       Action:
TAC recommendation approved and moved to second hearing.

DCA09-DEC-263 by Steven Clisset of Windstrips LLC - Does the Windstrips
new and innovative technology for attaching roofing underlayment qualify
for approval under the state product approval system.       Action:  POC
recommendation approved and moved to second hearing.
