[Florida Code Talk] Hardi Plank on CBS

This may be a stupid question/comment, but how are they fastening it to the
block? Seems to me that furring it out using Tapcons or other masonry
fastener would be quicker that having to use masonry screws or nails for
every plank.

Don, you are correct. No need to be humble about it. It is my
understanding that Hardie has done the testing and have the
approvals. But I have been known to be wrong - just ask my ex. I
have seen several projects in the Tampa area with direct applied
Hardie. These were multi-family done under engineering and
architectural seal and that might have been the path to local code
acceptance.

And let me once again state for the record, I prefer to see it the
"old fashioned way" - on furring. I am only pointing out that Hardie
does allow/recommend this method of attachment in their literature.
They had a demo wall with this approach at the IBS when it was last
held in Orlando.
